Solar panels

My Nannie and Gramps have some solar panels on their roof. They have 11 solar panels. They got them 2 years ago.

If they didnt have their solar panels their power bill would be $300 or $400 a month and with solar panels it is only $150. In summer their power bills are only about $25.

All the power from the panels go into a box and if they have extra it goes back to power company. The box tells them how much power they are making.

The solar panels still make power on a dark cloudy day but not as much as a sunny day.

Gramps can see on his iPad how much power is made each day.

They have two heatpumps, drier, hrv, big hot water cylinder, oven, chest freezer. These are lots of things that use power. They are happy they have their solar panels.

God´s Creation

 We have been learning about God´s creation and that it is holy because God made it .I can look after God's Creation by 

don't pollute because it damages the water and hurts the animals

do not litter because it wrecks the environment

do not chop down trees because we might not have any in the future

Campervan holiday - part 1

On Tuesday 14th July my Dad went to pick up the campervan. I almost fainted when I saw how big the campervan was. My mum told me to go inside and get my bag so I ran inside and grabbed my two bags.

Day 1. We drove to Tekapo and on the way we went to Geraldine there was a bouncy castle there. It was so colorful and really really fun. I made two new friends and they were sisters like me and Indiana. We kept driving to Tekapo and when we got there my friends Emma and Mya were waiting their for us. I could not believe I got to sleep up the top bunk with Indi. It was really cold in Tekapo so my Dad had to put lots of layers and blankets and duvets over us.

Day 2. When I woke up it was completely frosted and we walked all the way to the snow tubing. We could go up and down until it got to five times. I went down with Emma two times, Daddy one time, and I went by myself two times. After that we went to the cafe where Mummy and Freya and Charlotte (Emma and Myas Mum) and Nannie and Gramps were waiting for us. Me and Emma and Indi and Mya all watched ice skating after that we went to Lake Tekapo and there was a little frosted and frozen lake and we threw rocks on it and then we walked all the way back to the campervan to get ready for the hot pools.

Science experiments

I have been doing science experiments with my mum. I did two. The first one was milk and food colouring and dishwashing liquid. I poured milk in a bowl and put yellow and red food colouring drops in it then I put dishwashing liquid in. When I put it in the colors all changed and swirled together. My baby sister Freya did red and blue. It looked so cool. It happened because the fat in the milk trying to get away from the dishwashing liquid.

The other experiment was walking water and I chose blue and yellow and when the water walked over the wet paper towel bridge and mixed in the middle it turned green. It took all night. Freya chose red and yellow and hers went dark orange. She was upset it didn’t turn pink.

My feijoa stall

I have started a feijoa stall. 

My sister and I are selling big green yummy juicy feijoas for $2 a bag. The first day we sold 7 bags and we got  $14. our feijoa tree is huge  and green. Me and Indi sometimes climb it to give it a little shake and see if any feijoas are stuck in the branches. Every morning me and Indi run out to the feijoa tree and collect all the feijoas on the ground. We have 4 bags to sell today. 

You can eat feijoas on their own or make feijoa cake or slice or muffins. Also smoothies and ice cream.

my  mum  and sisters love feijoas. I am saving up for a cute and cuddly hedgehog toy. I delivered some of the orders on my bike  and the ones that were far away in dads car.

Easter bunny

It is 4 days  until the  Easter bunny will come  and he will  hide  lots  of Easter eggs in your backyard and you will want to ran  outside and look for them and eat them and you will have to look  really hard for them and the Easter bunny might have left caramel ones to. He might have left a trail of Easter eggs. I have made Easter eggs and put them on my  window and I have put my toy bunnies on the window l just can not wait until the Easter bunny comes.  The first time the Easter bunny came I loved it and their was lovely little signs of the Easter bunny so I new were  the eggs were. This year I don’t know what the Easter bunny will hide for me on Easter Sunday I will be happy with my family finding all the Easter eggs at my house in my backyard I love when the Easter bunny comes.

Dinosaur in my backyard

This afternoon my dad  dressed up as a dinosaur and he was chasing me and Indi and my baby sister Freya  all around the backyard. 
And it was fun. The dinosaur tried to get me. There  is  a video  on Facebook. Dads dinosaur outfit was a blowup costume.
He could barely get into the house because he was too tall. I hope that my dad will do it again when my friends come to my house.

3D animals

I have been  making 3d animal photos on  my mums phone. This is  how to do it. Type an  animal name in to Google and then  click view in 3d. Then click  view  in your space.  Then the animal will be in your  phone camera. I have done a hedgehog and a lion and a  shark a goat and a horse. Here are some photos of them. It is fun.
